Youth spreading rays of Hope: AYON disseminates book on Success stories of Youth

Association of Youth Organizations Nepal (AYON) held a “Book Launch and Talk program on Youth’s role in New Constitution Building” on 19th June, Sunday in Nepal Bar Association Hall. The book is titled “Aasha Jagaudai Chhan Yuwa”. It is a compilation of success stories of youth and youth organizations which are inspirational and exemplary. The book has integrated the ethos and struggles of 12 success stories of youth residing in the remote vicinity who chose not to flee abroad in search of opportunities and carved their way out through their indigenous labor and efforts. More than 70 individuals from various organizations and institutions were present in the event. The book was launched together by prominent political leaders of Nepal, Mr. Pradip Gyawali from UML Maoist and Mr. Ramesh Lekhak from Nepali Congress who were also the key-speakers for the program. Mr. Ramesh mentioned that youth today should be active and involve themselves in Constitution Building and Peace Process.


 

Whereas Mr. Gyawali stated that you now should put positive pressure on Government for Peace Process and Constitution building. They should come up with alternate options regarding much debated issues and topics of constitution and propose it to the Government.

Mr. Brabim Kumar K.C., General Secretary of AYON said that this book has made a positive attempt to ignite the zeal and enthusiasm of Youth by compiling few success stories.

Chairperson of the event and the President of AYON, Mr. Pradip Pariyar assured of AYON’s commitment towards positive and creative initiatives as such. He also expressed AYON’s and youth’s determination to pressurize Government positively for Constitution Building. Lastly he mentioned that youth should no longer be treated as an object to be mobilized and should be accredited with leadership and decision-making role too.
