I am a lawyer and advocate for peace, human rights, sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) and gender. Having done LLM in Human Rights and Gender Justice from Kathmandu School of Law, an MA in Rural Development and Political science and LLB from Tribhuvan University in Nepal, I have also been an advocate for Human Rights Advocate Programme (HRAP) in 2013 at Institute for the Study of Human Rights at Columbia University.
At AYON, I have led different capacity-building activities, campaign and also young women’s leadership forum and as a program management committee (PMC) coordinator looking after all projects implemented by AYON. I was engaged on SRHR project being implemented in partnership with Oxfam Nepal and also Youth Engaged project in partnership with Search for Common Ground in the year 2015.
Recently, I got elected as the Vice President of Youth Action Nepal (YOAC). Previously, I was engaged with YOAC at different capacities including as General Secretary (2011-2013), Secretary, and Coordinator since 2005. My works focused on coordinating coalition activists and facilitating training workshops on sexual reproductive rights and health. Similarly, with the Office of the Attorney General of Nepal, I was a trainee officer for six months and also worked as a researcher on Failure Cases of Criminal Justice System as a member of the research team led by Deputy Attorney General.
Besides these, I am co-founder of Forum for Nation Building (FNB) Nepal. FNB Nepal is working on the legal and development issues in the country.
I really believe that we all are the same, we are all human beings and we should all be treated equally. I love travelling, literature and reading novels.
