Director of Programs

Babu Ram Pant has decade of experience working for human rights, youth participation, and sustainable development with focus on programming, research and policy advocacy at national, regional and global levels.  He is the first person from Nepal selected as Special Youth Fellow to work with the United Nations Population Fund in its headquarters in New York, where he worked on Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon’s report on Population and Development submitted to the UN General Assembly, RIO +20 Youth Participation Strategy, and Capacity Building of Youth Organizations among others.  He has previously supported the work of UNFPA in Nepal as Youth Program Consultant.

Mr. Pant served as the vice-chair of Board of Directors of Youth Coalition (a global network of young people) from 2013 to 2015; and currently co-chairs SRR in Development Task Force. He led Youth Coalition’s advocacy work at the UN Headquarters during UN General Assembly in 2014 and 2015, and has worked on capacity building of youth in Asia-Pacific regionally. He has been invited by the Governments of Netherlands, Germany, Indonesia, UN Population Fund, UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, UN Environment Program, and UNDPI as Trainer, Resource Person, Speaker, Panelist and Rapporteur to contribute to important International Conferences, Meetings and Trainings. He also serves on the Program Advisory Committee of Asia Pacific Resource and Research Center for Women (ARROW), a regional organization based in Malaysia.
