International Youth Day (IYD) is commemorated every year on 12 August. Since 2000, IYD has been marked under a specific theme relevant to young people around the world. The IYD encourages youth around the world to organize activities to raise awareness on the circumstances of youth all over the globe. Since its inception in 2005, AYON has been commemorating IYD which adopts themes that are identified by the United Nations. AYON has been forging youth efforts together to mark the day and raise awareness about the situation and issues that young people face in Nepal.

Since its establishment in 2005, AYON has been celebrating International Youth Day (IYD). Following the same and realizing the need of youth leadership in peace building process, we celebrated IYD with youths of diverse background at Staff College, Jawlakhel, Lalitpur on   12 August 2017 (Saturday),      i.e. 28 Shrawan 2074 BS.

The main highlight of the program were Peace Yoga,Panel Discussion,Inter-cultural Shows,Drama,Flash Mob,Slam Poetry,Rewards to newly elected young local representatives and Organizational Stalls.
