AYON with the support of UNDP Nepal has completed its 2nd phase of ‘Informed youth: Increased Accountability’ training in Surkhet, Karnali Province with the objective to increase youth participation in policy formulation at the provincial and local level.
Through this project, 30 youths; inclusive of various age, district, gender and disability from Karnali province were sensitized about the parliamentary and law-making processes at the provincial and local level. We believe that by arming the youth with the knowledge of policy mechanisms in various federal structures, equipping them with the tools of advocacy, and empowering them with the belief that their voices matter, we will create youths that can advocate for youth-friendly, and SDG oriented policies and budget.
These informed change-makers will represent the voices of the youth and create an environment of participatory dialogue and help to create accountable parliaments.
We are now heading for Janakpur for our final training to the youths in Province 2 in next month.
