|“International Volunteers Day2018”|
|Place||:||7 provinces, Nepal|
|Date||:||5 December 2018|
International Volunteer Day (IVD), mandated by the UN General Assembly, was designated as an international observance day to celebrate the power and potential of volunteerism. Held each year on 5 December, it is viewed as a unique chance for volunteers and organizations to celebrate their efforts, to share their values, and to promote their work among their communities, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), United Nations agencies, government authorities and the private sector.
Association of Youth Organizations Nepal (AYON) in collaboration with United Nations Nepal, VSO Nepal and Raleigh Nepal including AYON Member organizations celebrated this year’s Volunteers Day in all the seven provinces.
This year’s theme for IVD 2018 – “Volunteers Build Resilient Communities”, celebrates volunteer efforts that strengthen local ownership and the resilience of the community against natural disasters, economic stresses, and political shocks.
