Association of Youth Organizations Nepal (AYON) conducted an Accountability Dialogue on the ‘Role of Local Elected Bodies and Youths in Disaster Risk Management’ on 20th June 2018 at NGO Federation, Hetauda with the support of medico international.
Former AYONer, Mr. Lokraj Awasthi facilitated the program with a presentation on Disaster Risk Reduction and its importance to advocate at the local level.
The main aim of the program was to make aware local elected bodies and youths about disaster preparedness and to make them more accountable to implement policies at the local level.
Mr. Himal Mahat (President of Ayon Nepal), Mr. Hari Bahadur Mahat (Mayor of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City), Mrs. Harka Maya Rumba (Deputy Chief at Gadhi Rural Municipality), Mr. Arjun Prasad Chaulagain (Chairperson of Ward no. 6, Sub-Metropolitan City) and Miss Aarati Pathak (Secretary at NGO Federation, Province 3) attended the program and shared their commitments in Disaster Risk Management.
