Association of Youth Organizations Nepal (AYON) in collaboration with Youth Development Center (YDC) organized an Accountability Dialogue on ‘Disaster Management and Gaps in Policies’ on 4th of June 2018 at Youth Development Center, Itahari with the support of medico international.
Around 30+ participants of Province 1 were facilitated by Mr. Arun Khadka with a presentation on Disaster Risk Reduction and its importance to advocate at the local level. A short group discussion was conducted among the participants in order to find out the gaps in policies formation in the context of the local level.
The main aim of the program was to aware the local youths about disaster preparedness and to make youth and local government representatives more accountable to implement policies at the local level.
The youth members of Provincial Assembly witnessed the concern of the youth in regard to disaster preparedness and promised to become more accountable to implement the policies.
