|Place||:||DECC Hall, UWTC, Tripureshwor|
|Date||:||23 March 2018|
AYON organized a symposium on ‘Role of Youths in Disaster Risk Reduction’ with the support of FASTENOPFER on 23rd March in Kathmandu.
Around 60 participants from different disaster-affected communities were involved in the event.
AYON brought various representatives from the youth organizations and government representatives together to share their experiences on disaster response/management and identify way forward approaches in the new structure of Nepal.
The main aim of the program was to prepare Local Youth Advocates to be the voice for making relevant stakeholders accountable during and post-disaster.
AYON also launched the ‘Youth Work Camp Manual’ which serves as a practical guide to those who are intending to carry out effective post-disaster rebuilding work. This manual is developed based in the successful implementation of youth work camp in Nepal.
