Almost a year after the Nepal Earthquake, Association of Youth Organizations Nepal (AYON) is still working for those affected. Realizing the benefits of unique youth-based recovery and rehabilitation model called Youth Work Camp (YWC) to reach 8231+ students from 60+ schools in 9 disaster-affected districts.
Following the same model and adding up to its previous works in disaster response, AYON is organizing Leader’s Camp from 22nd April 2016 at Bhuwaneshor Gwaltar, Sindhuli — an area affected by fire this month that destroyed 45 houses including a school, further adding up to the destruction by Gorkha Earthquake 2015 and its subsequent aftershocks.
Leader’s Camp youths will be involved in building Temporary Learning Center (TLCs) and also in the distribution of relief and stationery materials. On 20th April 2016, AYON organized an orientation program for the 30 selected youths of Leaders’ Camp.
